The ski area of Vallandry !

Vallandry is a little mountain village filled with restaurants, bars and shops. There are small residences as well as big, comfortable chalets situated at the ski-slopes. It is very popular with Dutch, Belgian and Britisch visitors.

The forested slopes of Vallandry create the most sheltered skiing in Les Arcs with a very good snow quality.

Vallandry belongs to the Paradiski area (La Plagne, Les Arcs and Vallandry) and offers various kinds of accommodation. Vallandry is an attractive village. It's build in the traditional Savoyard architecture style and it has an authentic mountain atmosphere in the middle of a gigantic skiarea.

The Vanoise Express, linking Les Arcs to La Plagne, begins here in Vallandry. The Express offers those skiing in Peisey-Vallandry an extraordinary amount of slopes.

Besides skiing, there are lots of other sportive activities do do in the area. For example; various runs for beginners, intermediates and experts and the wide selection of varied terrain and runs at an altitude of over 3,000 m. This makes Vallandry the ideal resort.

  • Walking - Hiking

    Peisey Vallandry is situated on the edge of the Vanoise National Park. It has some spectacular walks and hikes for all levels of fitness and experience. From the gentile family strolls to the full-on ascents and descents of the massive peaks in the area. There are no less than 6 refuges huts / mountain huts in the area for those who want to go on a longer walk.

  • Nordic Country Skiing

    Nordic Country Skiing
    Peisey Vallandry has one of the largest Nordic Ski area in the Tarentaise. With its 43km of pistes right on edge of the Vanoise National Park, it's a beautiful sight to see. It is a lush with flora and fauna such as chamois, ibex, larch forest, frozen waterfalls. There is also the local heritage; villages, hamlets and the ancient mines to be discovered.

  • Dog Sledding

    Peisey Vallandry is in the perfect location to take advantage of the stunning scenery and local wildlife. Take a ride on a 10 dog driven sled, wrapped up nice and warm on the edge of the Vanoise National Park or learn to drive your own team of 3 dogs. If you are lucky you may spot some Ibex and Chamois if you look closely...

    Snow Shoeing (or raquettes in French) is the perfect way to see parts of the mountain you would never normally see on ski's. Hire a guide to take you on some beautiful walks or rent a pair yourself and start exploring. The Vanoise National Park is a great place to go and remember to keep your eyes pealed for Ibex and other wildlife that live in the area.

  • Paragliding

    Whether it is winter flying over the snow covered peaks with skiers below or soaring on the summer thermals over the lush green mountains, paragliding is the perfect way to see the area. Peisey Vallandry Rentals work in conjunction with a local school and can arrange tandem flights or courses so you can learn to fly your own wing. All instructors are fully qualified and the school is recognised by the French Free Flight Federation.

  • Speed Flying

    Speed Flying
    Speed Flying (or Speed Riding) is a relatively new sport, having been around only about 5 years. Although classed as an extreme sport it is actually as extreme as you make it. As long as you are a good enough skier (able to ski red runs in all snow conditions confidently) you will be able to try speed flying. More than 400 people have already learnt speedriding with speedriding-school, Les Arcs and although they may have a french accent all the instructors can teach you English!
